Getting a Drug-Free Workplace

The first step in getting a drug-free workplace is setting up an account with a Third Party Administrator (TPA).

What is a TPA?

A TPA is a company that will set up all the accounts you will need to get your drug/alcohol program started and maintained.

These accounts include:

Collection Site - for the collection and shipment of specimens
Lab - For the actual testing of the specimens
Medical Review Officer (MRO) - for the review and verification of any results that report as a non-negative
Results Reporting - ensures confidentiality and efficiency
Record Upkeep - maintains files for your program
Bill Paying - condenses your bill into one instead of three or four

A TPA should also be able to help you in developing a policy for your employees and supervisors, maintaining compliancy with the DOT regulations and implementing a random program, if desired.
